What I use (no brand list, just the categories)

I keep it super simple because bottom lashes can get messy fast if you overcomplicate it.

• Bottom lash clusters (short lengths matter most: think 7–12mm range for most looks)

• Lash bond + remover (a bond that stays slightly tacky is easier for placement)

• Precision tweezers/applicator (angled tips help you see what you’re doing)

• Small mirror (I like looking down into it so I can see the lower lash line clearly)

• Optional: a little translucent powder under the eye (helps keep the area dry so bond grips better)

Prep that actually makes bottom lashes stay

Bottom lashes are picky 😭 The under-eye area can be watery, oily, or have leftover concealer that makes bond slip. This is what helps me the most:

1) Finish complexion first. Concealer + setting powder should be done before lashes. If I apply clusters first and then bake, I regret it every time.

2) Keep the lower lash line clean. If there’s mascara or liner on the lower lashes already, clusters won’t sit as neatly. I prefer doing bottom clusters first, then lightly blending liner after.

3) Dry zone = happy bond. If my eyes water, I press a tissue under the lash line for a few seconds. Not glamorous, but it works.

How I apply bottom lash clusters (step-by-step “apply with me” style)

Step 1: Plan the map before you open the glue. I lay out clusters on the back of my hand in the order I’ll use them (short → long → short, depending on the style). This saves so much time mid-application.

Step 2: Use less bond than you think. For bottom lashes, too much bond = clumpy + sticky + transfers to the skin. I apply a thin layer to the cluster base and wait a few seconds until it turns tacky.

Step 3: Look down into a mirror. This angle is everything. It exposes the lower lash line so you can attach clusters under your natural lashes (not on the waterline).

Step 4: Place under the natural lower lashes, not on the skin. I aim for the cluster base to hug the underside of my natural lashes. If it’s touching skin, it usually feels pokey and lifts faster.

Step 5: Pinch gently to “lock” it in. After placing, I lightly pinch the cluster to my natural lashes with tweezers. Not hard—just enough to fuse.

Step 6: Balance both eyes as you go. I don’t finish one eye completely and then start the other. I alternate: inner-inner, middle-middle, outer-outer. It keeps everything symmetrical.

Mapping is basically choosing lengths across the lower lash line to change the eye shape. Most of my everyday maps live in the 8–12mm world because it looks dramatic without screaming costume.

1) Soft Cat Eye Map (lifted + snatched)

If I want that lifted outer corner, I keep the inner shorter and build toward the outer third.

Try: 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 12

Placement tip: Put the longest clusters slightly before the very outer corner, then taper or stop—this prevents the eye from looking dragged down.

2) Baby Doll Map (rounder, wide-eyed)

This one is so cute with blushy makeup and glossy lips 🫶🏻 The longest lengths sit more in the center to create that open, round effect.

Try: 8, 9, 10, 10, 10, 10, 9

Placement tip: Keep the outer corner from getting too long. The goal is “center focus,” not “wing focus.”

3) Open Eye Map (bright + awake)

I reach for this when I look tired or when my eyeliner is soft and smoky. It’s like an instant eye-opener.

Try: 10, 10, 11, 11, 11, 10, 10

Placement tip: Make sure the center clusters are evenly spaced—this style looks best when it’s clean and airy, not packed.

4) Kitten Eye Map (subtle, flirty, not too long)

This is my “I want bottom lashes but I don’t want to look like I’m wearing bottom lashes” map 😅 Great for daytime.

Try: 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 10, 9

Placement tip: Use smaller clusters (or cut clusters in half) so the result looks wispy instead of chunky.

5) Natural Map (for upturned or prominent eyes)

If my top lashes are already dramatic, I keep the bottom softer so the look stays balanced.

Placement tip: If you go this long, keep the top lash style a bit cleaner (less dense) so the eyes don’t look heavy.

Stacking trick (for that spiky “manga” separation)

I also love a stacked look when I want more texture. Stacking means placing a second cluster slightly above/overlapping the first to create thicker spikes.

Example idea: build a top lash map like 18, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8 and then stack selective points (not every segment) for dimension.

But for bottom lashes? I stack very lightly—usually only one or two tiny spikes near the center or outer third. If you stack too much on the bottom, it can look heavy and start touching the skin when you smile.

Little details that make bottom clusters look expensive

Spacing is the secret. Bottom lashes look best when they’re not a solid strip. I leave micro-gaps so you can see skin between spikes. That’s what gives the “manga lash” effect instead of a fuzzy line.

Angle matters more than length. I tilt clusters slightly downward (not straight out). Straight-out placement can look stiff, while a gentle downward angle looks more natural and doll-like.

Common mistakes (and how I fix them fast)

Mistake: The cluster sticks to my skin.

Fix: Remove it immediately and re-place under the natural lashes. If bond is too wet, wait a few seconds before trying again.

Mistake: They look uneven between eyes.

Fix: Count clusters, not just lengths. Sometimes one eye has “one extra spike” and it throws off the whole vibe.

Mistake: My eyes water and everything lifts.

Fix: Use fewer clusters and avoid the inner corner. Also, make sure the under-eye area is set and dry before starting.

Mistake: The look is too harsh.

Fix: Swap the longest length down by 1–2mm, and space them out more. Bottom lashes get dramatic very quickly.

How I pair bottom lash clusters with an E-girl makeup look

Bottom clusters hit different when the rest of the makeup supports them. My favorite pairing is:

• Soft matte base + bright under-eye highlight (so the lashes pop)

• Blush a little higher on the cheeks (gives that cute, lifted vibe)

• A slightly smoked liner or tiny wing (not too thick—let the lashes be the moment)

• A glossy or stained lip (keeps the look fresh instead of heavy)

Choosing the right bottom lash clusters (what I look for)

Not all clusters work for the lower lash line. I look for:

Use only 5 clusters per eye. Place them from inner-to-outer but stop before the very outer corner. This gives a cute effect without fighting watery corners or poking.

Removal (be gentle, future-you will thank you)

I never peel bottom lashes off dry. The lower lash line is too delicate for that. I use remover on a cotton swab, press it along the cluster base, wait a bit, and then slide the cluster off. If it doesn’t move easily, I add more remover and wait again. Patience here keeps natural lashes happy.
